Q: How do I use Trexy?
A: Trexy enables you to remember your searches and the web pages you visit while searching on over 4,000 Internet search engines. Share your trails with other Trexy users and also follow the anonymous search trails of others. Find new information on the web and help build a universal searching memory. This can be done by downloading the Trailbar/Trailbutton.

Q: Why should I use Trexy?
A:Trexy automatically remembers your searches and the web pages you visit online by creating search trails.

Trexy users can quickly retrieve their previous searches and the web pages they have found before, saving time and effort. Blazing a search trail means you’ll never have to ask yourself, “where did I find that again?”

Users can also follow the anonymous search trails of other Trexy users, or as we call them, “trailblazers,” to quickly pinpoint information without having to do all the searching themselves.

Q: What is a search trail?
A: A search trail starts at a search engine and is the click path you create while searching for a result. Search trails can be created on over 4,000 search engines.

A search trail remembers:

  • Keyword searched on and the URL visited
  • The number of trails leading to \ intersecting at the URL
  • Country flag of the Trailblazer and search engine used by pioneering trailblazer
  • The option to see and follow the pioneer trail
  • Q: When does a Search Trail begin and end?
A: A search trail begins when you start searching your favourite search engine like Google. A search trail ends when you stop browsing or if you:

    • begin a new search
    • submit any form
    • enter any sensitive information on a secure page (i.e., https), such as login or credit card details

    Q: How do I blaze a trail?
A: To create your own trails you need to install Firefox on your browser.

Q: What is the difference between the TrailButton and the TrailBar?
A:Both the TrailButton and the TrailBar allows you to blaze search trails on search engine or search site on the web.

  • The TrailButton works on Firefox. The TrailButton integrates with the browser’s built-in search box, allowing you to easily search the Trexy trails database from any page on the Web. It also allows you to select your choice of search engine directly from the pull down menu.
  • The TrailBar works on Internet Explorer. This toolbar incorporates a search box, allowing you to search your trails and find information previously searched for.

A: A Trailblazer is a person that creates a search trail. Everyone can blaze trails. To get started download the TrailButton or the TrailBar.

Q: How do you know the Trailblazer's country flag?
A: The flag shows the geographic location of the Trailblazer. We determine the country from the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the Trailblazer's computer. You can also manually select your country flag in preferences. You can also choose to blaze trails anonymously.

Q: What is the difference between 'My Trails' and 'All Trails'?
A: 'My Trails' displays your personal search trails - the trails you created while searching. 'All Trails' displays the search trails other people have created to find their answers. This means you can save yourself the time and effort of searching for something that has already been found.

Q: Can I access my trails from another computer?
A: Yes, if you sign in on Trexy, you will be able to access your trails from any computer using any browser. Trailblazing is turned on by default.

Q: I can't seem to find what I am looking for in the Trexy trail results. Why is that?
A: It will take some time for our database of trails to grow. In the beginning, it is likely that we may not have a trail for what you're looking for. Why don't you be the first trailblazer to find it?

Q: How does Trexy rank search trails?
