Trexy users can quickly retrieve their previous searches and the web pages they have found before, saving time and effort. Blazing a search trail means you’ll never have to ask yourself, “where did I find that again?” Users can also follow the anonymous search trails of other Trexy users, or as we call them, “trailblazers,” to quickly pinpoint information without having to do all the searching themselves.

A: A search trail starts at a search engine and is the click path you create while searching for a result. Search trails can be created on over 4,000 search engines.

Q: When does a Search Trail begin and
end?
A: A search trail begins when you start searching your
favourite search engine like Google. A search trail ends when you stop
browsing or if you:
- begin a new search
- submit any form
- enter any sensitive information on a secure page (i.e.,
https), such as login or credit card details
Q: How do I blaze a trail?
A: To create your own trails you need to install Firefox on your browser.
Q: What is the difference between the TrailButton and the TrailBar?
A:Both the TrailButton and the TrailBar allows you to blaze search trails on search engine or search site on the web. The TrailButton works on Firefox. The TrailButton integrates with the browser’s built-in search box, allowing you to easily search the Trexy trails database from any page on the Web. It also allows you to select your choice of search engine directly from the pull down menu.
The TrailBar works on Internet Explorer. This toolbar incorporates a search box, allowing you to search your trails and find information previously searched for.
Q: How do I become a Trexy Trailblazer?
A: A Trailblazer is a person that creates a search trail.
Everyone can blaze trails. To get started download the TrailButton or the TrailBar.
Q: How do you know the Trailblazer's
country flag?
A: The flag shows the geographic location of the Trailblazer.We determine the country from the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the Trailblazer's computer. You can also manually select your country flag in preferences. You can also choose to blaze trails anonymously.
Q: What is the difference between 'My
Trails' and 'All Trails'?
A: 'My Trails' displays your personal search trails - the
trails you created while searching. 'All Trails' displays the
search trails other people have created to find their
answers. This means you can save yourself the time and effort of searching for something that has already been found.
Q: Can I access my trails from another
computer?
A: Yes, if you sign in on Trexy, you will be able to access your trails from any computer using any browser. Trailblazing is turned on by default.
Q: I can't seem to find what I am
looking for in the Trexy trail results. Why is that?
A: It will take some time for our database of trails to
grow. In the beginning, it is likely that we may not have a trail
for what you're looking for. Why don't you be the first
trailblazer to find it? Trexy can be used as a platform to other search engines and databases on the web. Choose from your favourite engines to begin blazing a trail on Trexy. This contributes to the Trexy database of trails and will ultimately be reflected in the 'All Trails' results.
Q: How does Trexy rank search trails?
A: Trexy uses Trailrank, a technology which analyses all the trails in the Trexy database, and calculates the optimal intersection points to share with the user. The more time search trails with the same keyword intersect, the higher its relevance in the Trexy search results.
Q: How long will Trexy remember my search trails for?
A: Indefinitely. You can however delete your trails at anytime. Once these trails are delete they are wiped from the system.

Q: How do I add an engine?
A: It is easy to add an engine. It is a simple 2 step process. Enter the URL of the search engine you wish to add to the Trexy search box. We will tell you if you can connect to it. If you can connect you will be able to blaze trails.
