Trexy Launches Widget to Show Search Trails on 3rd Party Websites

Search engine company, Trexy.com, today announced the launch of a new widget that enables publishers to display search trails that harnesses the collective wisdom of their visitors.

Trexy's "Visitor Search Trails" widget enables web publishers to display and share valuable information about their users and the navigational decisions they make while searching. The widget displays the search terms and engines visitors use to find the website, their country flag and the trail of pages they access on the publisher's website.

Trexy's CEO and inventor, Nigel Hamilton said, "Publishers both large and small can benefit by adding the widget to their site. Trexy helps publishers to create community and improve user experience by sharing the search discoveries their visitors make."

"The widget also helps publishers to reach new users. The search trails made on publisher sites contribute to Trexy's growing database, which are in turn indexed by major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN leading new users to publishers' sites", he said.

The "Visitor Search Trails" widget is free and easy to install. It updates instantly and shows the search trail data in real time. It is the latest addition to Trexy.com's search trail technology.

Trexy.com is the first search engine to interoperate with thousands of online databases to remember and share the search intelligence. Trexy finds the optimal page that multiple users access to find their answer and shares this with other searchers.

Since launching last year, trailblazers from over 35 countries have contributed to the database of 1,000,000+ search trails created on over 4,500 online databases.

Nigel Hamilton will speak at the IMS Conference on Wednesday 5th December at 11:45 in Theatre A on, "Search Trails Back to the Future".

About

London based Trexy.com is a unique search technology that allows users to remember and share their searches and the web pages they visit by creating search trails. Search trails are the pathways users create while searching on 4,000+ engines.

Trexy.com is inspired by scientist and visionary, Dr. Vannevar Bush, who in the 1940's shared his vision of creating a collective memory by recording peoples' trails through information. Bush dreamt of a device called a "Memex" - an enhanced supplement to personal and community memory created by trailblazers: "those who find delight in the task of establishing useful trails through the enormous mass of the common record." Free to use, Trexy's toolbar called the TrailBar, works with Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers.
